There are some important points that we would ask you to remember.
The closing date and time for transfers in September 2010 was midnight on 23 October 2009. Applying after the closing date may seriously affect your chances of being offered a place at your preferred school.
Applications for transfers should have been made online. This is a secure and well tested system and the council’s preferred method of application because:
The system helps you by checking for errors.
There is no risk that the application will get lost.
It is quick and easy to do.
You will get an immediate email confirmation that your application has been received.
Application packs are also available from Newcastle primary schools and Sure Start Children’s Centres.
Most parents are offered a place in one of their preferred schools. If we are unable to offer any of your preferences, you will be offered an alternative school place. You will be offered the right of appeal if a place is refused.
If you need any help or assistance contact Newcastle Families Information Service. The FIS works closely with our Choice Adviser who can provide more in-depth impartial support with the admissions process should you require it.
