One of Europe's biggest shopping and leisure centre, MetroCentre, is in Gateshead, just three miles from Newcastle City Centre. MetroCentre has 360 shops and services within three miles of pleasant, airy, tree lined malls, all under one roof. There's late night shopping every weekday, famous name stores, plenty of eating places and unique leisure attractions. There is themed shopping in the The Forum, The Studio, Garden Court and The Village. Fun for all the family in the many leisure attractions, including Odeon cinema.

There are 10,000 free car parking spaces, free coach park, bus station with over 1,000 buses a day and MetroCentre has its own railway station. 

MetroCentre is open seven days a week from 10am until 9pm most days. Saturdays 9am - 7pm, Sundays 11am - 5pm and Bank Holidays 10am - 6pm. MetroCentre's leisure attractions, cinema and pubs stay open after the shops close to complete your day out. Yellow and Blue malls normally open until 11pm.
