We want to be sure that children and young people enjoy and achieve in all aspects of their lives and particularly in their learning. The social, emotional, spiritual and cognitive development of children and young people is at the centre of everything we do in planning learning.
By achievement we mean make good progress academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and personally.
Children who enjoy life and learning are more likely to achieve, and in turn achievement brings its own enjoyment
Children and young people will be active participants in the learning experience
Children and young people should be able to enjoy their leisure time, and especially the most vulnerable must be helped to use leisure facilities and opportunities
Children and young people will develop skills and engage in opportunities which will foster creative learning
Children and young people should be supported to be confident, well organised, to respect others, and take responsibility
The learning needs of all children and young people particularly where there are barriers to achievement will be understood and supported
Children and young people are helped to feel part of their community
Children and young people should have access to good quality, purposeful out of school provision with choice
