How to Find The Mansion House

From the North

  • When coming in from the North either on the A1, A696 or from Newcastle Airport follow the A1 southbound until you see the junction marked Newcastle City Centre (left) and Hexham A69 (right).
  • Take this exit and at the roundabout take your first exit.
  • Follow this road straight, going over the first roundabout and all the way up the hill. At the top of the hill a Citroen Car dealership will be on your left hand side just before a roundabout, turn left at this junction.
  • Follow this road straight going over a set of traffic lights until you come to a main junction with a Morrisons superstore on your right.
  • At this junction is a small roundabout, turn right to the large roundabout and then take your second exit onto the central motorway A167. Follow this road; do not turn off for city centre.
  • Follow signs for Jesmond and Coast and as you go into an underpass move into far left lane following the road to the left.
  • At the first roundabout turn left into Osborne Road and take your first right into Fernwood Road.
  • The Mansion House is the second house on the left.

From the South

  • Follow the A1 North and after the Angel of the North and the Team Valley take the exit marked Newcastle and Gateshead A184.
  • Follow this route staying in the right hand lane and this will take you over the Redheugh Bridge into Newcastle city centre.
  • Follow the road straight through a succession of traffic lights until you reach the roundabout opposite St. James’ Park Football Ground.
  • Take the second exit and follow the road to the next roundabout with Barclay’s Bank on your left. Turn left and follow this road up until the Civic Centre, St. Mary’s Church and the Haymarket Metro are all visible.
  • Stay in the left hand lane and go over the set of traffic lights you are at, Northern Stage is now on your left, go straight over the next set of lights and take the left exit onto the central motorway and follow the road immediately round to the right.
  • You are now at a junction, turn in to the motorway and go immediately over to the far left lane and follow it to the left coming to a roundabout.
  • Turn left into Osborne Road and take your first right into Fernwood Road the Mansion House is the second house on the left.

From Jesmond Metro Station

  • As you leave the Metro Station, walk along Eslington Terrace.
  • At the end, turn right onto Clayton Road then cross Osbourne Road.
  • Take a left turn onto Fernwood Road.
