The aims of the tenant mix proposals are to achieve a consistent level of quality, service and to ensure diversity. The newly created event space continues to promote the Grainger Market through specialist events e.g. monthly Arts and Crafts Market, Fairtrade and Healthy Living events, children's entertainment and other activities.

Flexible Letting Terms

Whilst the refurbishment of the Grainger Market is underway the City Council is not committed to granting long term agreements. However, units are currently available on a three-year lease with the option of a tenant's break clause after the first year to provide greater flexibility. Please note that security of tenure will be excluded under section 38 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. This means that the tenant does not have the automatic right to renew the lease at the end of the term and does not have rights to statutory compensation on vacating the unit.

Viewing Arrangements & Further Information

Access to view empty units is available during Market opening hours via the Market Inspectors whose office is situated in Alley Number 2 of the Grainger Market, next to the Weigh House - they will open up available units for your inspection on request.
