How to submit a request for a Scrutiny Review

How to Submit a request for a Scrutiny Review

You can submit a request for a Scrutiny review to be undertaken by the relevant Scrutiny panel. The issues you believe should be investigated must affect residents of the district.

Full details of the issue you would like a Panel to scrutinise and the reasons for the request must be given.

You may submit a request to the Principal Scrutiny Manager in writing or by e-mail.

What happens next?

After you have summitted a formal request for a scrutiny review, the council's Scrutiny Manager will contact you within 10 working days;

  • The request will then be submitted to the relevant scrutiny panel;
  • The panel will decide whether it wishes , or is able, to undertake the suggested review;
  • If agreed it will be scheduled into the panels future work programme;
  • You will informed of the Panels decision and if your request has been sucessful, the Scrutiny Officer will keep you fully informed of its progress.

If you need any advice before you submit your request, please do not hesitate to contact:
