At the East End Customer Service Centre (CSC) you can get access to over 90 different council services (pdf, 45.7kb). Other facilities at the centre include:

Cashiering services
PCs with free internet access for public use
Freephones to other council services
Private interview rooms
Local travel and transport information
Local information and a community notice board

The current East End CSC is an interim centre and we plan to build a new purpose built facility in the area by 2008.

Staff at the East End Customer Service Centre have been bowled over by the popularity of its services and facilities. It has been operating from a temporary location on Shields Road since August 2003. By the end of 2008, a new purpose-built Customer Service Centre will be in place next to Doris Wilkes House, where Grafton Street joins with Shields Road. This will provide much needed extra cashiers' points, more private interview rooms and customer reception points to help meet the demand for services in the area. Customers have loved the East End Centre since it first opened and the numbers of customers remains consistently high, in spite of the limited cashiering point facility. Staff and customers alike are looking forward to moving into the new Customer Service Centre, specifically designed to meet the needs of all of the community.
