Celebrating Christmas 2009
Continental Market
Monday 23 November - Saturday 5 December 2009 around Grey's Monument
Since 2002 we have hosted a truly Continental Christmas Market with stalls from Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and Spain turning the Monument area into a cosmopolitan market place with stalls packed full of unusual Christmas gifts and festive foods to be enjoyed including delicious marzipan stollen, Dutch cheeses, plants and bulbs, Belgian chocolates and German sausages.
Christmas Market
Wednesday 9 December - Sunday 13 December 2009 around Grey's Monument and Old Eldon Square.
Since its beginnings in 2002, Newcastle’s Christmas Market has grown in both size and stature and has now established itself as one of the highlights in annual events calendar.
With the famous city centre backdrop there are over 50 stalls showcasing many local traders with a wide variety of original hand crafted gifts, and tasty treats. Traders sell everything from alpaca hats and gloves to boozy Christmas cake, cheeses, delicious jams, beautiful glassware and gorgeous jewellery.
We're looking for stall holders who sell either quality gifts or Christmas-related food.
We're also interested in hearing about street performers.
