If you feel you’re having to tighten your belt and money isn’t going as far is it used to our new ‘Income Generator’ team might be able to help.

We have joined up two parts of the council - the Benefits section and Welfare Rights - to create recession-busting help for anyone in the city.

The team can help you by looking at what benefits you may not even realise you’re entitled to - which could save you pounds on council tax, rent or other areas of your budget

The team will do this by:-

  • Providing advice on all Welfare Benefits / Housing and Council Tax Benefit, Disabled Relief and Discounts.
  • Assisting you in claiming these Benefits / reductions.
  • Signposting you where necessary to specialist Welfare Rights officers. (Debt Advice, Macmillan etc)

 

The Team provide drop in sessions are the following venues:-

  • Outer West  Customer Service Centre Monday 09.00 to 12.00pm

 

  •  East End Customer Centre Centre Tuesday 09.00am to 12.00pm

 

  • Citizens Advice Bureau St Cuthbert Chambers 35 Nelson Street Wednesday 10.00am to 12.00pm (By Appointment only)

 

  • The Walker Centre Church Walk Walker Thursday 9.00am to 16.00pm (By Appointment only)

 

  • Kenton Customer Service Centre Friday 09.00am to 12.00 pm

 

Appointments can be made for all sessions to guarantee that the team can see you and alternatively home visits can be arranged if required.
