Housing and Council Tax Benefit legislation changes

To find out if the changes affect you, ask yourself the following:-
- Are you on a low income?
- Do you receive child benefit?
- Are you struggling to pay your rent and or council tax?
From 2 November 2009 Child Benefit will no longer be included as income in Housing and Council Tax Benefit calculations. If the answer is yes to the above questions you may be entitled to help towards your rent and or council tax
Pensioners:

- Do you have savings and investments worth less than 16,000?
- Are you struggling to pay your rent and or council tax?
From 2 November 2009 the capital rules in the Housing and Council Tax Benefit calculation are changing. If the answer is yes to the above questions you may be entitled to help towards your rent and or council tax.
