Operational Group
The Operational Group, which is co-ordinated by the ASU, is designed to consider and act on areas of common interest with a variety of stakeholders. The group comprises a range of partners which act strategically and review operational issues. The group have been running for the last 4 years and their main purpose is to :
- Share good practice, information and ideas.
- Consider feedback from frontline service providers.
- Work together to drive up service standards.
- Act as a forum and a link to support other strategic groups.
The range of partners include Your Homes Newcastle, various City Council Departments especially Education and Social Services, the Police, Primary Care Trust, Voluntary Sector and the regional NASS.
Now that Refugee Community Organisations are starting to flourish in the region we feel it is a good time to seek representation from the Regional Refugee Forum on the Operational Group. We have invited them to attend and look forward to welcoming a representative onto the group.
For more information on the Operational Group please contact Vin Totton, Manager of the Asylum Seekers Unit, telephone: (0191) 2788612. email asylum.unit@yhn.org.uk
